Who we are
Monte da Portela Nova, Monte da Portela Nova, 7670-504 Ourique, Portugal. Contact: info@portelanova.com.
What we collect
Only what you type into the forms on this site: name, email, phone if you give it, dates, number of guests, your message, and the newsletter email if you ask for it. Nothing else.
What we use it for
Solely to answer your enquiry and, if it goes ahead, to run your stay. The newsletter is sent only to people who asked for it on the footer form.
Legal basis
We answer an enquiry because you ask us to: steps taken before a contract, under Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR. A booking is then a contract, and the records the law requires are a legal obligation (points b and c). The newsletter rests on your consent (point a), which you can withdraw at any time. The visit count holds no personal data.
Newsletter
If you subscribe, we keep the email to send news from the house. You can leave by replying to any message or writing to info@portelanova.com. We do not share the list.
Who we share it with
Nobody, apart from the services that host this site and deliver its messages, and the tax and guest-registration obligations required by Portuguese law (SEF/AIMA, where applicable). The site is served by Cloudflare and the forms’ emails are sent by Google (Google Workspace): both are US companies and may process data outside the European Union, under the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become bookings: twelve months. Completed bookings: the period required by tax law, currently ten years.
Cookies
This site sets no tracking cookies, carries no social pixels and does no profiling. There is one functional cookie, pn_lang, if you choose a language in the menu: it remembers that choice for a year, so the homepage opens in that language. It is not used for advertising.
Statistics
We count visits on this server — the page path and the language, nothing else. No cookie is set, no identifier is stored, and we do not keep the IP address. Cloudflare sees the connection, as it does for any request to this site.
Maps
The contact and region pages carry a Google map, which loads only if you press the button. Until you do, nothing is requested from Google and no cookie is set. If you do load it, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, under Google’s privacy policy.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by writing to info@portelanova.com. You also have the right to complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the CNPD.
